Alecia Guzman (born November 30, 1968 in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, sometimes credited as Alecia Guzman Spendlove) is an former American model and actress. She perhaps is best known for her print ad campaigns for Reebok in the early 90s. She has also previously auditioned to become one of two newest Barker's Beauties on The Price is Right during its 29th season and model tryouts.
Early Life & Career[]
Alecia hails from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Growing up, she had personal struggles from a stressful childhood and suffered from low self-esteem.
Alecia began her professional modeling career in 1993 with photographer Bob Coello for swimsuit trading cards by Portfolio. She had instant success and was called for the 1994 edition. After that, Alecia's career continued to sky rocket. "I just got through doing a print shoot for Reebok and a TV shoot for Bally's. The magazine ad was everywhere, Vogue, Si, Cosmo, Playboy, etc. and the TV spot went national. My mom is always proud when I'm on TV."
Price is Right audition[]
With already an impressive resume' in hand, Alecia wanted to add to her modeling and acting credentials. She answered a casting audition for the television Game Show The Price is Right as they, during their then-29th season on CBS, began a nationwide model search to find two permanent replacements for longtime models Kathleen Bradley and Janice Pennington, both of whom were unjustifiably dismissed from the series (along with several of the show's longtime staffers & producers) as their final appearances aired on Wednesday, December 15, 2000.
Alecia was one of two potential Barker's Beauties whom were the very first to land an on-camera audition, making her nationwide debut on (airdate) Friday, December 15, 2000 and continuing on until (airdate) Wednesday, December 20th, plus one solo appearance on (airdate) Monday, January 29, 2001, for a total of five appearances altogether.
Later Career & Personal Life[]
As an actress, Alecia also landed a few guest starring roles various television series including Baywatch, The Single Guy, High Tide, Mike Hammer and Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.
After her brief stint as a Barker's Beauty The Price is Right, Alecia went on to appear in a few Crest Whitestrips commercials.
As of today, Alecia is married to Grammy-award winning music & film producer Randy Spendlove (taking his last name) and together, they have two children: son Brandon and daughter Alex. Throughout her life, Alecia has overcome many obstacles from her difficult childhood to battling alcoholism to surviving ovarian cancer. Despite those many obstacles, she has emerged stronger, using her experiences to inspire and motivate others. Her journey to sobriety and overcoming cancer has been a testament to her resilience, leading her to explore various therapies, including EMDR and 12 step programs. She is also a firm believer in the power of meditation and yoga, for which she credits for helping her through her recovery journey. Alecia is also passionate about holding space for others to share their stories, a passion she channels through her podcast with her partner Eden, called "Taste of Recovery." Her story is a testament to her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith.
In addition to being a Podcaster, Alecia also has an olive oil business.
