The 1970s Hi-Lo set. This is from July 13, 1973 (#0455D) and is featured on Disc 2 of the DVD set.
Premiere Playing (April 9, 1973, #0321D)[]
The first playing of Hi Lo. Check out the contestant's hair! Now, instead of the familiar rules, here's how it works: With each pick, the player must tell Bob which row each product's price goes.
If she wins, she will win a Kimball organ worth $995!
She begins with the Accent seasoning, worth 32¢.
She says it belongs in the Lo row.
She then goes to the Downyflake waffles, worth 49¢.
She says it belongs in the Hi row.
She then goes to the Wesson buttery flavored oil, worth 85¢.
She says it belongs in the Hi row.
She then goes to the Borden Dutch Menu Gouda cheese, worth 57¢.
She says it belongs in the Hi row.
With THAT row filled up, the remaining two products have to go in the Lo row.
The Purina Lively liver cat food is 18¢.
Obviously that goes in the Lo row. So, the Tootsie Pop drops have to be less than 49¢ for her to win, as 49¢ is the lowest price in the Hi row.
Unfortunately, it was not. It was 69¢, so THAT should have gone up in the Hi row, and the Downyflake waffles should have gone down in the Lo row.
Her look says it all.
But this game WILL be won soon, as soon as we fix the rules.
In the meantime, we'll have another pricing game after this message!
